Bhutan is blessed with a landscape full of rugged and lofty peaks that are connected to each other with treacherous tracks and mountain passes. One such is the Chele La pass that separates the Paro and Haa valleys and is well-liked for short expeditions.
At nearly 13,000 feet above sea level, Chele la is the highest drivable pass in Bhutan. The road up to the vantage point is interesting with sights such as rapid rivers, waterfalls, yaks and blue poppies, the national flower of Bhutan. Some even prefer trekking or cycling to reach the pass depending upon the weather conditions.
The panoramic view from the top is a sight to behold with snow-capped mountains and clouds floating below eye level. The colorful prayer flags make for a dramatic sight and it is believed that their fluttering spreads positivity and goodwill across the land.
